Digital paintings can be just as beautiful as traditional paintings. In fact, because the artist is able to zoom deeper into a digital painting, the rendering can be much more detailed. The painting file can then be printed on high quality paper. There is a myth that digital paintings are easy to make. As with all media, the computer is just a tool, like a regular hand-held brush and canvas; the artist simply uses these tools to create. There is no "paint" button on a computer that automatically makes good art. Good artists make good art :) Many artists work digitally because it is less messy and takes less time, saving clients money.
What is Digital Painting?
Digital Painting is painting in a computer program like Adobe Photoshop or Corel Painter, with digital brushes on a digital canvas. I use a Wacom tablet and pen to paint with. These digital brushes (brush tips) can be shaped any-which-way to create the effects of traditional (regular) painting brushes.
